Mazie Walker Gathers
August 20, 1935 – December 22, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Mazie Walker Gathers of Pinebluff, North Carolina, announces her transition of life on the evening of Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the age of eighty-seven.
Mazie had a servant’s heart and did everything she could throughout her life to help all of whom she came in contact with, along the way. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-five years, David Edward Gathers; two children, Crystal Gathers-Whatley (Wilbert) and David Diamond Gathers (Wilma); five grandchildren, Jocelyn Calip (Jimmy), Joshua Clark, Nicole Gathers, Chay Gathers, and Blade Gathers; two great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Emmanuel Calip; her beloved companion furbaby, Princess. She is also survived by her older sister, Mrs. Lucy Davis.
The family has prayerfully decided that due to the surge of COVID-19, RSV, and the Flu virus, to have a private family funeral. Instead of a viewing at this time, a Celebration Of Life will be announced and held, when it is safer at a future date.
